Mentorship starts at the top

The MIC office has long upheld a 35-year tradition of mentoring young talent, as started by founder and creative visionary Garfield Ingram. His first foray into mentoring started when he became a Big Brother to David Common over 35 years ago. That friendship quickly evolved into a special family bond that endures today with “Uncle Dave” and family – as Garfield’s sons call him – deeply ingrained with the Ingram family.

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto organization recently honoured David with “Alumni of the Year” award. As the Little to Big Brother Garfield, David is the host of CBC’s Metro Morning and he recently invited the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and Garfield to share their story of mentorship, friendship and family.
